I am new to this forum and have just taken up scroll saw as a hobby, i have bought a record saw, 9i realise this was a mistake0 and i am saving up for a better one. I live in Nottingham and my question is where do other scroll sawers get decent hardwood from? I am having problems finding a supply so any help or advice is extremely welcome. Thanks for any input

You can scrollsaw up to 3/4" hardwood without any problems, available from good timber merchants. In Nottingham there's Nottingham Hardwood Timber, http://www.nottinghamhardwoodtimber....-timber-store/ Brooks Timber http://www.brookstimber.com/ I've not used either of of them. If you're close to Sutton in Ashfield then Ron Curries have hardwoods at mostly 3/4" planed up. https://roncurrie.co.uk/ I've used these they have mainly Oak and Sapele. But if you need thinner then British Hardwoods do hobby packs of thin hardwood, https://www.britishhardwoods.co.uk/t...bby-packs.html If getting plywood then google Baltic Birch ply. If you have a good bandsaw and planer then you could prepare your own wood, which is what I do now.
