Default Advice needed on best adhesive that does not "stain" over time

    Hi there,

I've been card-making for years and found that double-sided tape can "stain" paper over time (adhesive seems to seep through to the "right" side). I have just started scrapbooking and as scrapbooks are intended to be kept for years I would like to find an alternative method of adhesion that will not leave telltale marks through paper. I realize if I use only thick card then that might solve the problem . . . but I could end up with quite "fat" pages! And I have so many pretty papers in my craftroom just waiting to be used!

So, all you experienced scrapbookers out there . . . any suggestions for the best method to use? All advice gratefully received.

I suggest you have a look at the Xyron system. I use it for card making and it works so well you can attach parchment to card without it showing through. It is supposed to be non staining and permanent ( there are different choices but one is permanent) Have a look at their website for more info.

I really like it, no glue mess and a clean finish.

Thanks for your advice Lily, I'll have a look at the Xyron site . . . I used to have one of their machines but then couldn't get the refills as the machine was discontinued!
    I've checked out FB . . . awesome cards!

    Happy crafting!

You can also use Collal photo glue, non staining because its designed to glue photos into albums but then to be temoved if you eant a swap around...plus if you stick in something that you need to remove without damaging it then you can because it is like a thin layex instead of a hard adhesive, it will peel off again. Also an acid free solvent free craft glue will do but you only need to “ Tack it in” not “wallpaper” it in, many of my designs are stuck down with the minimum of dots about 1-2mm wide applied with a cocktail stick.

...thanks very much, yes, I cut every single day.
The photo glue will need a bigger blob than pva etc that I apply with a coctail stick...just give it a try to see...
