Combining forged steel and ceramics:URGENT
Hi, can anyone help me. Im putting together a project proposal for a sculpture prize that has to be complete in 2 weeks. I want to fire a life size clay (probably stoneware) figure with an exposed forged mild steel armature. I need to find someone with a large enough electric kiln (in south west uk, hopefully west of london and south of birmingham) who would in theory allow me to use their studio and kiln to realise this idea (steel work completed in Herefordshire). I would need to attatch an argon injector (very low rate- around 1cubic foot per cubic foot of kiln volume per hour- hopefully just though a peep hole) to create an inert environment to prevent steel oxidisation. I beleive this does no damage to the kiln as long as the injector doesnt emit directly onto an element which would not be the case through a peep hole. Can someone please help or put me in contact with someone who may be able to. Thankyou, all the best. Dan.
Dream big....
