I've been making candles for a while now And never had any problems with my wicks, until today I received a message about some weird black gunk that keeps forming around the wick.

It looks like the candle wax has also been burt Which is really weird.

Has anyone ecperianced this or know what can be causing It?

If you are referring to mushrooming, then it is a common problem.
It is a build up of soot on the wick because the wick is drawing more wax than it can burn.

It's a tricky thing to rectify as some of our jars suffer whilst other jars don't even though they have the same wax and wick.
Not having the candle burn for long periods, and trimming the wick properly can help reduce this.

    Smeg.

I've looked up Mooshrooming, but I'm unsure that's what this is. I've actually dealt with mushrooming (without realising what it was) this doesn't really look like that.

I keep trying to attach a link to the image I was sent but I'm not allowed, it looks like a large black mass on and over the wick.
