Hello, I'm fairly new to card making and am attempting matting and layering techniques. However I never seem to be able to cut a nice straight line on the card, or then even manage to stick it on the blank card straight ha ha.

i have a sharp blade and cutting mat and a trimmer etc, are there any other products out there which are good for accurately cutting card for people like myself that must have a wonkey vision lol,

thank you you in advance x.

Sliding trimmers should be accurate enough, I used a guillotine with size markers on the board.
A sharp blade and cutting mat will probably not be accurate enough for a straight cut...they do get wobbly.
Sticking card straight...put 4 strips of double sided tape around the edges of the card you are sticking down. Peel back 3/4 of an inch of one end of each strip, folded outwards of the card edge.
Turn the card over and centralise it, as you hold it down, pull each one of the four tabs out so the sticky tape can atick down, do this on the other three sides. One piece of card stuck squarely down.

    Dave.

You might consider 'Perfect Layers', but you'll still need to be able to cut a straight line with a craft knife or scalpel:
