Hi everyone, I am a complete beginner. I took a real interest in starting to make wedding stationary and hoping I can get some brilliant advice on here. I bought the Sizzix Big Shot Plus and have a few cutting die ordered along with glue, ribbon etc. Can anyone suggest a good site or thread that would help me get started. I really like the gateway cards but dont know where to start lol, thanks in advance

Hi Ciara, welcome to the forum, sorry, I can't help as I hand cut everything but no doubt someone will be along soon.

    Welcome to the forum.

I'm not a card maker and am a dope at IT so can't answer your questions specifically. However if you have a look around the internet I am sure you will find dedicated web sites for card makers, and no doubt the various cutting machines. If you are on facebook, I expect there will be pages/groups on there that you could join.

Hi Ciara and welcome to the forum. I am a card maker/papercrafter/mixed media junkie ...who also makes wedding invites when pushed - its not my favourite thing because its so repetitive and kills the joy for me, but I love seeing the end result.

Big shot plus is a great machine - I have a standard ig shot but got a plus machine as well because of the A4 capacity - and I love it. I also have a cricut but rarely use it

When you say gateway cards do you mean the style that opens like a pair of double doors? If so they are called Gatefold cards and you can buy them ready made (they come flat but are cut to size and pre-creased) or they are really simple to fold by simply scoring a base card and folding the two ends inwards. Since you spoke about making wedding invites maybe you can post a pic or a link to the type of thing you would like to make and we can point you in the right direction as the possibilities are endless and targeted advice is probably more use than a ton of general stuff that you may already know/not need.
