    Hello

Well, I'm amazed at how little interest there is in poor old knitting and crochet...I'm here to brighten up this section and maybe inject a little inspiration?

Here's my first crochet project after many years of knitting, I wanted a project to grow quickly and be finished so I can begin another so I decided to teach myself. This sunburst granny square cushion cover was made with just a few colours of good old acrylic yarn with reversible sides. They'll be changed over in spring/summer for a more suitable colour scheme/cotton yarn that will be more light and airy.

You'll need to learn single and double crochet to make any of the cushion elements:

    Single: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCDA44Sijx4

    Double: https:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kpC_z8Oc3A

I made 9 round sunbursts before bordering to make them square then single crocheted together to make one big piece. It was finished off with 1 row of single crochet and 2 rows of double to bring it all together.

Here's the Youtube tutorial for the sunbursts, this is round 1 of 4 stages. If you look at the description underneath the video it will let you know where the next 3 steps are : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l03jtVTxmL4

    Go on, have a go

Lovely! I crochet and have just made my first gloves.I have done scarves and a few mandalas. I've got a fox on the go too.

I can't wait for the colder weather so I can wear my hats and scarves :-)
