I have used Wilkinsons, Fiskars but now settled with Janome. Been through more pairs than I care to remember but that is in over 30+ years of sewing. Use Janomes now as lighter and easier to use with the on start of a bit of Arthur-Itus

After years of using cheaper scissors I inherited a pair of fiskars from my late MIL. They are lovely and sharp and a pleasure to use. Whatever you get DO NOT under any circumstances use them for cutting paper or card - keep a spare cheap pair next to them so you won't be tempted. It will blunt them.

Thank you for the advice. I have since resorted to having my original heavy duty scissors professionally sharpened, and I am very pleased with the result, Thanks again for your interest. xx
