Ok, someone has to start the ball rolling! This is a 'kishie' I made using 5 (or 6?) pairs of old jeans. Kishies were traditionally made from straw and used in Shetland to carry peats home from the hill to the house on the backs of the women who knitted as they walked! This one holds my kindling and only gets carried from the shed to the house.

This is one of my favourite recycled baskets. It's made from plastic packaging tape and woven with two 9-roll toilet roll bags cut into a spiral (there are small carrier bags for colour top and botttom). I use it on my bathroom windowsill for all those bottles that are nearly empty and you want them upside down to get the last of the shower gel/ shampoo/ etc out. It just rinses under the tap if it gets anything spilt on it.

This little pincushion is entirely made from recylced materials.

The yarn used was from an old jumper the button was taken of an old skirt. The little cotton bag inside with the stuffing was once part of a blouse.

I bought this sweet jar at a reclaimation yard, etched it with a design to make it more appealing as a saleable product.

I picked up these plain glasses from a charity shop and etched on the design so now they are a unique pair of whisky glasses.

This recycled project started life as packaging for a well known brand of cheese triangles. Box was covered in paper and decorated with a border band, ribbon and topped with 3D decoupage dog roses (built using an original digi design by Eiglas - a friend of mine)
