What shall I do with my eggs?

No, Im not thinking about having them frozen.I bought some poly eggs and egg cut outs a few weeks back and have absolutely no idea how to decorate them, or what icould do with them.
Id hate to waste them and really feel the urge to use them wisely as Easter is quickly approaching.
Any ideas?I hate to copy peoples creativity but I really need help.

the kids at our school had an egg competition, and there were some great designs, one was the olympic games with podium. i'm thinking sequins to represent the olympic games, lol (or the cast of harry potter, which me and my son did, lol)

sorry i know thats no help what so ever.

If the poly eggs are 3D you could wrap ribbons around them securing with sequins and pins.

I like that idea, I even stumbled upon some cheap pins and experimented with ribbon, but nothing turns out how I want it to.
I shall have another go though.
Out of frustration last night I covered 3 of the eggs with yellow tissue paper, seeing them today they look awful, not even Id pay for them.

You can also cut them in 1/2 or 1/4's and wrap each section with paper or fabric then stick them back together and put ribbon over the joins. Have a look at these http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=fab...w=1517&bih=714 for some ideas.

            Thanks for the idea/link.

Ive tried wrapping ribbon round the eggs but they dont look right.Does the width of the ribbon make any difference?

Did you wrap the ribbon around the circumference or base to top? Would be easier from base to top using generous amounts of PVA glue to keep flat to the egg. Maybe paint the egg first using acrylic and then you could leave small gaps between the ribbon. I think 5, 6, or 7cm width ribbon would probably be best. I save the ribbon they use on jumpers to go on the hanger (the ribbon always pokes out and shows!). That would be the ideal width.

How about decoupage with different coloured torn tissue and PVA glue. You could maybe find some Easter tissue or wrapping paper...could also tie a single piece of ribbon from the base to top using the PVA glue to keep in place, make a loop and hang on twigs with small chocolate Easter eggs and chicks. I've done this with real blown eggs and they come out every Easter...

There is someone that covers them in layers of Sakura paper, ( because it is nice and flexible for curved surfaces with minimum of creases) looks really good when finished and you have a bowlful, and she does the tutorial how to on her blog, if I can find it on the other laptop, I'll drop it to you.

I've never heard of Sakura paper (something else to look up online...) sounds Japanese or Chinese...Yes I like the bowls of eggs too.
I have quite a few projects waiting to finish and I've forbidden myself to get involved in another exciting thing until I've completed a couple. How come the initial excitement of a project dims when you see another one that you simply must get involved in right now?
I'm in the middle of finishing a woodland themed Christmas stocking with little felt woodland creatures and I'm loving it, even the hundreds of tiny stitches sewing them together. As soon as i can figure out how to do my profile on the forum (my daughter's going to show me) I'll take some pictures and attempt to put them in the relevant place. I use a computer most of the day at work but not a clue with forums!

Would love to see the link you mentioned - hope Seahorse sees this.

This thread is 3 years old, no wonder I hadnt got a clue what was going on. Poly eggs are all gone now.

                      (1) You can use pretty paper napkins and decoupage the foam eggs. You peel off the top layer (printed) of the napkin and tgear it into small pieces. You can use mod-podge or there is a special glue made for decoupage with paper napkins. You can get a crackle finish to apply over the decoupaged eggs. stick a few pearl hatpins on the bottom of the egg to act as feet. Attach a small ribbon bow with a tiny ribbon rose pn the top. You might be able to do the same with the plastic eggs. (2) you can make very tiny yo-yos and pin them through onto the foam eggs keeping them very close together.
