    Candle Making Calculator Spreadsheet...

    Hi all,

I've mentioned in another thread on here that I'm pulling together a spreadsheet to help budding candle makers work out the weights and measures necessary for their projects. I'm sure you all have your own methods for doing this already, but I love the simplicity of having a computer do all the working out for you and who needs to be doing mental sums whilst watching wax melt??

So far It will easily show:
    • The amount of wax needed for any given container being turned into a candle.
    • The amount of wax needed for pillar candles (square based and round based pillar moulds).
    • The suggested weight in grams of FO, based on total wax weight (from 1-10%).
    • An easy to use form for recording your own wax blends that will show, based on a percentage used, the amount in grams of wax and each additive needed for a single candle along with a batch of the same candles.
    • Basic info on wicks and the size of candles they are suitable for (work in progress at present).
If anyone is interested in a copy of the final product then PM me an email address.
Also, if anyone can think of anything else they think would be useful in it, let me know either here or by PM.

If no takers, then I shall keep it all to myself!!

    Hi,

For those of you that PM'd me your email address for a copy of the calc, I'm happy to say Version 1.1 should be in your inbox (or perhaps spam folder depending on your setup!) now.

For anyone else that would like a copy and future updates, PM me your email address and I'll wing a copy your way too.

Hope it's of some use... Comments and suggestions welcome (be nice!)

Are you planning on adding a timeline for burning candles? I know it is not easy but some sort of guideline maybe.
I'm sure newcomers will ask ...... how long will that last
And God said "let there be light" ...... so Adam lit a votive candle, with a V45/S3-80 wick, giving off the sweet smell of apple and cinnamon.

                  Very impressive
One of my problems was with the amount of FO , but now that is in the past.

Well done Spencer, your efforts are appreciated

Nearly finished with the "candle burn time calculator" now. Just ironing out a few wrinkles like making it show time as 10hrs45mins rather than 10.75. So expect version 1.2 in your inboxes soon.

Open to any more suggestions from anyone...

Version 1.2 now in the inboxes of those that have requested it.

Now includes a tab for calculating the approximate burn time of your candles.

If anyone else would like a copy, just PM me your email address.

                          S.
