The forum Rules ~ updated version 28/05/11

The Forum Rules ~ New version

This version of the rules 28/05/11 supersede former versions.

    The forum rules:

    General:
    1. The forum is a “family friendly” forum, therefore all words and content should be suitable for children.
    2. Treat others as you would wish to be treated. Be tactful and friendly in your responses.
    3. No personal attacks, keep debates about opinions. Flaming is not tolerated on this site and could result in banning. Name calling is not acceptable, Racism etc will result in banning.
    4. If you are unhappy with a post please use the 'report post' button (the triangle at the bottom left of the post) – any concerns posted on the open forum will be deleted.
    5. No posting URL’s until you have 25 posts. This includes URL’s in disguise eg. Dot co dot uk. The 25 post rule also applys to being able to ask for a website review, link exchanges or for Facebook 'likes' etc. or to direct people to other sites you can be found on..
    6. Try to stay on topic (if the thread is about cards, then keep the thread about cards. Start a new thread for new topics.)
    7. Contents of PM’s (including those from moderators) are not to be discussed on the forum without prior consent from the sender.
    8. Posts discussing moderator actions are not allowed and will be deleted, if you have a concern please PM the moderator directly or approach the forum administrator.
    9. No ‘bumping’ of threads to bring your post back to the top of the forum without specific permission from a moderator. You are not permitted to start multiple threads about the same issue.
    10. Any posts that are simply cut and paste copies from other websites (including your own) will be deleted.
    11. It is the responsibility of the poster to abide by the rules. Failure to do so will result in the post being deleted or edited and a possible infraction being awarded. You will not be notified if your post is edited.
    12. Usernames should not contain URL's either whole or in part.

    Advertising:
    1. No spamming or unauthorized advertising of goods for sale, websites etc. This includes private messaging without permission to advertise something.
    2. Once you have 25 posts you may reply to a question by linking to your site if it is RELEVANT but you may not include any sales patter or prices. Recommending your site on old threads or excessively posting links will result in the posts being deleted and an infraction issued – continued offending will result in a ban. Posing as a customer to recommend your own site will result in an instant ban.
    3. Advertising any forum or group (eg. facebook groups), be it crafts or otherwise related is not allowed in either posts, pm’s or signatures. Such links will be removed from posts or signatures at the discretion of the mod/ admin team.
    3. Signatures are limited to a small font, a maximum of four links and a total of 5 lines of text. There should be no large gaps top and bottom, and will be edited by moderators and admin if they take up too much space or include non craft related links.
    4. All signature links must be crafts related. (any non craft related signature should not be added until approval has been sought from the moderators or admin.) They should contain products made by you or supplies for making craft items. Bought in craft items can not be promoted. No prices or discounts may be mentioned in signatures.
    5. If you wish to advertise your site or products, you have 4 choices:
•email or pm 0103media for the advertising rates
•Add your site to the directory linked to this site www.ukcraftwebsites.co.uk This includes adverts on the forums right hand side
•Add your site to your signature and then give great advice and help to people on the forum. Your reputation will advertise your site.
•Go elsewhere if you wish to spam.
    6. You may advertise craft fairs based in the UK. The fair must be recruiting crafters and not merely advertising it’s presence. A single thread in the craft fairs section is all that is allowed (the adverts will be subject to moderation if it is felt that they are not relevant or fall foul of other forum rules).
    7. You may advertise a craft workshop/course based in the UK and the post must contain the basic information such as location, date and price. A single thread in the courses/workshops section is all that is allowed (the adverts will be subject to moderation if it is felt that they are not relevant or fall foul of other forum rules).
    8. If you run a site that is a selling platform for handmade only items you may create ONE thread about it in the How To Sell My Crafts section to make our crafters aware. These posts will be subject to moderation and possible deletion if we feel the site isn’t handmade only or doesn’t sufficiently benefit our members.
    9. You may not advertise any product for sale. Posts that may equate to a "for sale ad" will be deleted. You can however show your latest creations in the my project section.

    Membership:
    1. Creation of duplicate membership accounts is not allowed. Duplicate accounts are often associated with bullying, spamming or other negative behaviour.

How we deal with rule breaks:
We use whats called a infraction system that offers a yellow and red cards. Yellow being a warning and Red being a temporary ban normally 10days. Many times we try and post in public regarding low level rule breaks to help new members vs a infraction. Infractions are recorded and repeat offenders will be permanently banned from both craftsforum.co.uk and craftjuice.com

    ADDITIONAL RULES:

    The administrator’s decision is final.

While these rules attempt to cover the most common scenarios they can not anticipate all eventualities. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure the forum is not disrupted or abused in any way.

These rules are not exhaustable, and may be added to at any time in the interest of the crafts forum.

If you feel this limits the site and/or your experience then please email / private message me or any of the mods..

    Using the forum:

Although the administrators and moderators of Craft forum will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages. Just bumping this thread as we seem to have a lot of rule breaks happening.
Please remember the forum is a non selling platform
