Suede thonging

I normally hang my pendants on faux suede thonging, but this time I ordered some real suede for a change. I'm really disappointed with it. Its really rough! There's no way I'd want to put it round my own neck let alone anyone elses!

Have I got a bad batch or is it supposed to be like this??

I don't know whether it's supposed to be rough or not however after this half term there's 2 necks I'll hang it around for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
