Default certain universities were allowing other makers

On the University front there was a scheme last year where certain universities were allowing other makers to come in and use their facilities.
Can't remember what the scheme was called but I think it was part funded by the Arts Council

Thanks for all the tips, Brian! I'll have to look out for some of these places, I can tell...

Chronos are indeed a great place... but not what you'd call a bargain, usually! The best time is their Open Days - great bargains, and a prize draw, too. I won a metal-turning lathe the other year!

Ooh, fancy - your own CNC machine! Cool! So, if we ever need something absolutely ridiculously intricate that The Great Hairy can't manage by hand on hios new mini-mill, you'd be the one to commiission, then...?

Just so everyone knows, PETG can be cut and milled beautifully with a home mini-mill.
Thank you for all your help, Autumn Faerie! I'd give you some "points" but it won't let me...

Default Zap! Creatives - Acrylic Scraps

What sort of sizes would you need? We sell A5 acrylic in sheets for cheap but have some small bits and pieces laying about which are scrap.

Have you tried to find plastic and acrylic fabricators and manufacturers? They will send you sample swatches which may be of some use?

I know this is an old thread but my hubby runs his own Plastic Fabrication Company. If you ever need some more acrylic, PVC whatever just give me a shout.

    Cheers.

    Oh, cool!

Does he have facilities for blow-moulding, or otherwise manufacturing in plastic? I have this idea for a craft product, y'see...

    Talking

He doesn't do vacuum forming (that's how the domes are made) it is all from sheet material whether it be flat, tubes etc.
