  • Witch dolls I made for Halloween

    Hello everyone
I made these dolls some years ago for Halloween. I made them using instructions from a book. I thought they were very cute, even though they weren't quite like in the book.

Thank you Indri. One has little hands and the other has unusually large hands. They turned out slightly differently.

They are appealing. You have done a good job of making them.

In Italy they celebrate La Befana, an old witch that flies around the world on a broomstick on the eve of 05th January. She flies down chimneys delivering candy to all the children who have been good during the year. A bit like Father Christmas. I think they look like great Befanas

                            The witches make me smile.
Perfectangel, it's an interesting story that the witch gives children candy. It teaches kindness. Do people decorate their homes for this occasion?

I wasn't sure so i asked my husband who is Italian, he says that a lot of people hang Befanas (witches) in their window and on their door.

She is basically the Italian Father Christmas. They have Father Christmas here in Italy but the tradition is not as popular or as old as La Befana
