  • new baby card - first attempt at iris folding

I made this card for one of my friends who has just had a baby girl. I've never done iris folding before and I thought I'd pimp it up with some quilling!

Aw that's so lovely, I love the footprints. I bet your friend was delighted to receive such a special card.

Nice card. I can't get my head round iris folding. I can't seem to visualise the design before its done so I can invent my own designs.

This was a kit, or I may not have had a go but the card looked so plain with just the iris folding so when I found out yesterday she'd had a girl I got it all pinkified in quilling. I may have to have another go at iris folding sometime.

Ooh missed this when you first posted, aw she had a girl

I agree, it can look plain without some added decoration and you're quilling really sets if off it looks great

She named her Nadia. Just have to dig the knitting I did out of the wardrobe - poncho, hat and teddy bear. Nothing like homemade gifts for a new baby!!

Ahhhh, this is so cute. I did have to look up iris folding. I'll have to ask my classmates if anyone does this. I don't think I've ever seen this technique.

Thank you. It was my first attempt, and I was pleased with it because I was interrupted a few times by my 3 year old while I was doing it!
