Just finished my 2 year old Grandson's train for his cake on Saturday. He's mad on trains and goes around all day pulling an imaginary train whisle going 'wooo wooo'........don't ya just love em!
Lol Lisa, do I talk about my grandkids that much that you remember their names?
thanks all - I did make him an iggle piggle last month and grandaughter has an upsy daisy on order - plus eldest grandaughter has put her order in for her birthday toppers next month.........she wants Beauty and the Beast!!
Last year I did her the 7 rainbow fairies and anybody who has a little girl will know who I am on about.......I think I did post a picture of them on the cake in craft juice but not sure if it got published!
I did'nt use any foil, to be honest, I forgot to do so......LOL... but thankfully its not at all heavy and will stand fine on the cake without sinking! The two carriages are hollowed out, which makes it even lighter as well.
Ooooh - you did an Iggle Piggle and an Upsy Daisy. I might be in touch about a birthday in November! Although she does want a night-time fairy cake - the fairy must have glittery wings and have stars shining Is 4 too young to tell her that she'll get what she is given??
I think the train is great and I'm sure your grandson will be very pleased with it - well done.
I'd love to see the Upsy Daisy. I sometimes call DD Iggle Piggle and she always says 'no, I'm upsy daisy' No birthdays coming up here but they would have been great on Shelleys cake instead of the pink butter cream covered ruin that was supposed to be a fairy castle cake that I tried to produce for her birthday. I am afraid to say I had to make a quick dash to Sainsburys to buy her a cake, first time I've given a shop bought cake in my 5 years of being a mummy. (Kids were probably relieved LOL)
Thanks a lot for your comments - I think no matter how many items we make, we still need that little bit of encouragement to be told that yes, it is well enough to show off and maybe sell at some point!
Have to tell you though that I'm kind of having fun telling everybody that because he's 2 and its got number 2's over the engine, I have called it the:
2 2 train!! ............LOL, now stop groaning!
Pauline
ps... I will post pictures of upsy daisy when I have done her, along with iggle piggle. I probably also have to make macapacka and he nicky nonks next!! Where on earth did they come up with these names and is there a child in the country that does NOT watch 'The Night Garden'???
