Been at a speedcrafting day today, 8 choices of crafts on a Valentines theme. We could choose 5 and had an hour at each. I took my mum too as an early birthday present. The results:

Mum had a great time too. It was fun to try new things out, I've never embossed before so that was interesting and I spent a bit of money on beads and wire last night after trying that out! Mum has never needlefelted so she got some new ideas and I have the stuff here she needs if she wants to do any more. The way we were doing it was using a cookie cutter as a form and felting into it to make the shape. The way I've done it before is to felt the wool then cut out the shapes, no waste this way! It's good mum found stuff she could do as she was in a car crash 3 1/2 weeks ago and her hand is still in a splint.

The lady who ran it did 2 days with 10 people each day, the first time she has tried anything like this so I think she did really well. The 3 homemade soups and scones went down well at lunchtime too!

Sounds like a great way to spend a day, with likeminded people and trying out new crafts. No wonder you and your mum enjoyed it!!

Sorry to hear about your mum being in a car accident, I hope she's ok and recovering well.

Thanks, Mum is getting there slowly. She was hit head on by a foreign driver on the wrong side of the road who was driving a 4x4 pickup. Her car is a write off and her ribs, hand and head are still playing up. having seen the car she is lucky to have got out as far as I can see! It was a scary couple of days!
