  • Forever Candles

    Hi all,

What do you think of the latest addition to my candle family.

I have embedded a glass tea light holder within the wax. You never actually burn the candle you only need to insert a tea light with whatever scent you like and light it.

The actual candle lasts forever AKA forever candle. I have made these with a rustic feel to them but it doesn't come out very clearly on the white one.

Let me know what you think guys.

    Cheers.

Thanks all for that, it is so hard trying to come up with ideas and when you do you wonder if people will like them!

Annette they can be done in any colour but I think to be able to see the rustic effects it would need to be in a deeper colour. However if people don't like the rustic effect they can be poured as ordinary pillars - all nice and shiney.

I will need to remember to do red rustic ones for Christmas - and I can even do cinnamon scented tea lights (because I know someone not a million miles away who likes cinnamon - not giving any names away though Icecream Girl!!!).

            Cheers.

Cool - I like those! Just a bit confused though - there is definitely no way the candle holder would melt??

No chance the holder will melt. It is made of thick glass. I went through quite a few prototypes before I got it right. I tried tea lights embedded in the wax but the candle ended up melting along with the wax. Tried thinner tea light holders but the same thing again the candle melted along with the wax. Got the thicker tea light holders only to find that they didn't fit into the moulds so had to get others.

That's the thing with candles you need to test, test and flipping more tests because you don't want to sell something that could be potentially dangerous to the public.

                Cheers.

I've had another idea. I got some candle decals from Crafty Computer Paper (thanks for posting them) and I could do personalised ones you know for weddings, birthdays and that kind of thing. A keepsake that would last forever type thing. What do you think?

                        Cheers.

I love the idea of the decals for a keepsake of a special event. It's actually strange you should post this as I've been making ceramic candles all week that hold a tea-light ..... maybe I should buy some of your cinnnamon ones for the fairs I've got planned upto Christmas .... I love this forum ... so much cross networking :-)
