My latest commission so far.....

Some of you might remember me mentioning that I've been commissioned to make some jewellery for a lady's daughter's 18th birthday and she wants to spend £100. Well here's what I've made so far, the photo's aren't great, sorry. Would be interested in your opinions on whether you think it's worth £100. The brief was "pinks and reds" and I suggested silver and swarovski crystal.

Necklace - SS snake chain, swarovski teardrop 38mm pendant in bordeaux - wire wrapped in SS wire and simple SS bail.

Bracelet - tigertail with SS wire guardians, SS heart chain, swarovski 10mm heart beads in siam, swarovski 5mm bicones in rose and SS frosted round 3mm beads (like stardust beads) with a SS heart toggle clasp



Watch - SP heart watch face, then same materials as bracelet



Earrings - SS earwires, SS fine beading chain with SS crimp ends, swarovski 5mm bicones in rose and SS frosted round 3mm beads



I was also going to include an 18mm siam swarovski heart pendant for the necklace so that she has a choice as the teardrop is quite big (but the SS pinch bail I had for it snapped as I was putting it on! so waiting for a replacement to arrive) and another pair of SS earrings with 10mm siam heart pendants on, do you think this is too much? - too little? The materials have cost about £40 and I've spent about 3 hours designing, purchasing and making

Hi Nicola, I'm a big fan of your work and I think these pieces are lovely. When you take into account the cost of materials and your time spent I think the pricing is spot on, and as long as your customer is happy (and her daughter!) then you should both be happy.

Beautiful pieces. I'm sure the daughter will love them. I would have said anywhere between £80-£100 for the pieces.

Could you perhaps include a ring as well?

I think the pricing is right (based on cost of materials x 2 plus approx £5-£6 per hour for your time!)

Or you could say 3 hours work for £60. I think that's fine, and it's not often you can get that in the craft world, so go for it. It's not too much for 4 pieces of specially designed.

Lovely work, the watch is gorgeous.
