  • Seedsticks!

Well, I finished my seedstick charms, with help from the lovely Helen at PeggyCrafts.

I had a gift idea, you see - a seed-marker stick with a wish for something good, and the seeds to plant. Make your wish as you plant the seeds, mark the plot with the seedstick as a reminder, and as the seeds sprout and grow, your wish will come true! Well, that's the idea, anyway.

It came from buying a big box of mixed wildflower seeds to scatter in my garden, and a day when I forgot my book on the way to work, and wrote the rhyming-couplet charms.

So, I pyrographed the sticks each with a symbol and a rhyming wish, and got these lovely little silky bags from PeggyCrafts. Each bag is full of assorted wildflower seeds, done up in a twist of tissuepaper, and is attached to the stick by it's ribbon. I wrote a little "booklet" about what to do, and attached that too. The colours of the bags match the sort of wish on the seedstick and in the booklet - red to find love, white for a happy marriage, blue for healing, green for growth, etc...

I made 28, of all diffent types, although I've sold a couple already : http://www.flickr.com/photos/tannison/tags/seedstick/

Here's some pics of them :

I can't make any more, 'cos Wilkinson's don't have any of the big sticks left in any of their shops!

    What do you think?
    Cheers,
    Scorch

      Thank you!

Oh, that'd be so cool - I can't find a Wilko's that even HAS the sticks any more. They were 99p for 10 on a hang-up greenish card, next to the dibbers. I'd take up to 6 packs, as Mum can use them in the garden if I don't use them, if anyone can find them and would post them to me.
I'd obviously pay you for them and the postage, or send you pyrography to a greater value!
      Cheers,
      Scorch

Oh, thank you everyone! That's most kind of you. I'm hoping they'll appeal to people as something different.

Thank you to everyone who's offered to get sticks for me - much appreciated - I'd love that. I don't mind if I get loads of them from different people, as they're not expensive, and don't "go off", after all!

I just really, really wish I'd taken them to the pagan picnic last weekend, instead of that other fair...

Jan - thank you for thinking of me! You're so kind. But there's no rush, really... I'm happy with whatever you happen to come by, whenever it happens to turn up.

Madly Creating - The bottom half will indeed get dirty and such, but the top half with the design on will just slowly fade away as your wish comes true... hopefully!

You ought to set up a trial - to see if wishes do come true

Hehehe - maybe! They will if you BELIEVE that they will, that's my opinion. And the text I wrote is all encouraging and nice, so maybe...

Though I am gonna add a slip with the TDA "entertainment only" bit on it, just to be sure!
