  • It's right there, in black and white...

...with a little bit of grey too! Well, it's been a crafty bank holiday weekend for me. In between other things I've been mosaicing away in my craft room, experimenting with some tiles I ordered recently but haven't have a chance to use until now. Here's the one of the ones I've finished, the others are currently still setting!

They are very nice. Do you buy the tiles that shape or do you cut your own. I have never attempted anything like that and am just curious as they are so even.

These ones are already cut but I have got some other bigger tiles which I a going to cut myself to make different shapes - it's on my list of 'to dos!'

          Thanks for the lovely comments!

These are glass, your eye sight it perfect! I do also use ceramic tiles (one of my other 'makes' of the weekend is in ceramic mosaics) but most are done using either glass or vitreous glass tiles.

Oh, I really like this one! The muted colours would go with anything! I like the glass tiles too. Very nice.

                  Thank god for that!

Do you cut your own glass then or buy the tiles as they are?? I suppose that when using glass as opposed to vitreous glass tiles you have to do some shaping or trimming?

I came across this short video this afternoon . . about a ceramic tile mosaic artist in Oregon in the US . . beautiful stuff! . . thought you might find it interesting . . http://www.opb.org/programs/artbeat/...Ruth-Greenberg

Just to add, really glad you said that as I have started including the close up to show the differences in the type of tiles used - with the main shots it was difficult to see so glad that's working!

Thanks for the video link too - she's very talented!!!
