  • Pyrography Portrait

This is a recent commissioned portrait i was asked to make of someone's son, burnt onto a slice of birch using the art of pyrography.
This was my first portrait on wood, so it would be great to hear any feedback on this. Thanks!

If you would like to see any more of my work, i have a small album here on craftforum, or you can visit my website:

Beautifully executed, he looks a delightful little chappie, you have really captured his character. You can be justly very proud of yourself.

Oh, thanks Critchley, thats very kind of you.
Although i mainly worked from a photograph i received from the boy's mother, i did meet him a couple of times during the process and tried to add a bit more character than the original photograph suggested.
                        Thanks again!

That is wonderful, and so unique. The lady who commissioned it must have been absolutely delighted.

                              Thank you Elaine
Yes Linda, the boy's mother was pleased. Sometimes its hard to know how someone else will see your work, especially something as precise as a portrait, but I was happy she liked it.
