  • Is this picture alright?

    Hello,
I am currently having a problem in how to display hats for pictures. I would really love a old hat stand or block but they are just too expensive...
So I came up with this... what do you think? Is it alright or people usually want to see a person wearing it?
    Any ideas?

    Kind Regards,

    Hello Ana,
I don't think you need someone to wear the hat to show it off. Your hat looks great! and there isn't anything there in the photo to detract from it. It gets the thumbs up from me!

I think that looks fine for your photos. I would sometimes think that I would want a hat that I haven't seen on someone elses head if I was buying one that was hand crafted...

Your bottle looks fine, quite inventive in fact. Sorry - the hat looks great too, the broach sets off just right. I have one or two crochetted hats. My kids laugh at me because I pull them down over my ears when it is cold. They are so versatile, very stylish when you want but comfy to wear. Love them.

Looks fine to me! Though, if you want a display stand, why not make one? PVA-and-newspaper papier-mache over a balloon fitted with a cardboard collar should work! And you can paint and varnish (PVA again!) it as you please...
                      Cheers,

                        The picture is fine.

About heads, you can buy polystyrene heads from places like hobbycraft. In fact I used to have one somewhere for some artwork. I have a feeling it got thrown out, they are only cheap. If you don't fancy the white polystyrene look, you can emulsion over them (surprisingly!).

                          Your hat is absolutely gorgeous.

The display technique in your photograph looks good, the item is displayed well showing the detail accordingly with a photograph which is of good quality.

Thank you for your feedback! I am really pleased you like my beret
So I think now I can list it in my shop.

I think I will try doing a display in papier mache... Let's see what I will come up with. Great idea, Scorch! Thanks!

                              Have a great weekend!
