  • Can you help me please????

    Hi there Fellow Crafters,
I am going to make my very own Hand Weaving Loom, but I'm stuck at the moment, as I want to know if anyone out there in the Craft World could advise me on something???

Having bought some wood from an on line company - I want to know how I can stop the wood from splitting when I knock the Nails into the top and bottom of the frame??? I ask this as the wood isn't very thick!

Any advise would be/and is very very much appreciated!!!!!

    Many thanks
    Nicolas

Will just gluing do? Glue the frame up and then drill for dowels and glue them in. If not try blunting the point of the nail or predrill with a bit smaller than the nail. Or you could use screws.

      Hi Glenwood,
Thank you soooooooooooo much for your reply!!!!!

Hmmmm I'd not thought of using Screws, I guess they would work just as well right??? Although would I have to pre-drill before screwing in the Wood Screws???

      Cheers for now

Yes you would, a clearance hole in one and a pilot hole in the other
