  • 1st bowl for months

Had a break from spindle work today to make some bowls for my stock. Haven't done any for a while and realised that I was getting low on them. This one is about 9" diameter, walnut with the rim textured and verdigris wax polished. Buffed with carnuba.

Very nice, and a great finish you have done on the bowl overall, and great rim finishing too. Love it. Back in 2002-2004 I bought quite a few bowls from a wood turner (and online), who I have since lost contact with. He made me a terrific large Ash platter, that I needed for a friends commission in the states (picture below). I just loved the feel of those beautifully turned bowls, and they are a blast to burn on. Great job.

Thanks Steve. I have done a few platters etc for pyro's and they are good practice for getting a spot on finish. Usually have to buy the wood in though as lime, sycamore etc are not woods I get my hands on that easily.
