  • Anyone stenciling onto fabric? Paint question.

If you are stenciling on to fabric, what paint do you use? I wouldn't want it to be washable but wouldn't want it to come off with contact.

I have done some stencilling on fabric in the past and used Dylon Soft Fabric Paint which is permanent and washable.

I've used various fabric paints, acrylic paints and ordinary household paints. They all work and don't come off when you merely touch them. Different paints have different degrees of fastness, washability, permanence, ease of application etc etc.

      All good for different purposes.

I silk screen onto fabric and i use a fabric medium, you mix it with acrylic paint so you can literally mix any colour you like. I use a couple but my favourite is Daler Rowney's System 3 textile medium for screen printing. It can also be fixed by ironing it once it's dry =)
