  • embellishments for cushions

    Hi
I am making cushions for christmas gifts. I have used rough burgundy tweed on one side and on the other have crocheted in thick chunky wool. It is extreme crochet with a 10mm hook (big) and 3 strands together of burgundy and creams. The outcome is a rugged thick cushion size 16" square. I now want to put a trim on the crocheted side. On one cushion I have crocheted a chrysanthemum so gives a 3d feel and made a large homemade tassel. Now need some ideas for the others.

What about threading some funky ribbon through the gaps in your crochet? What about crocheting a scallop or other decorative edging and attaching it across it?
You could use bondaweb and make a flower from the tweed, a ribbon flower. Making a big "yo-yo" with a vintage fancy button centre. What about incorporating a pocket (for the remote control). Now why don't ideas come this easy for my own projects!

      Thanks Jan
I am looking around for some nice buttons, I have plenty of fabric scraps left over. I will have to have a play around and maybe fray the edges of it. Well done
