  • Finally plucked up the courage...

    and entered a quilting competition!

    I must be mad!!

I had a really cool idea for a quilt and then decided to enter it in a quilt competition - even though the competition is in about 3 months time and I am due to have a baby in 9 weeks!! Oh and I have a 14 month old (nearly) running around! Bearing in mind I have only ever finished about 5 projects ever! I always start them and then get distracted by another new technique or idea.

I'm quite excited though as the "challenge" fabric from the organiser arrived on Friday and it is awful! It is not my sort of fabric at all which means I have no idea how this quilt is going to end up looking now.

    Ho Hum....onwards and upwards

I'll keep you posted on my progress

    Wish me Luck!

Good luck with the quilt. Maybe the competition deadline will be an incentive to get this one finished!!

                    Hi guys,

                    Thanks for the encouragement...

So far I am less than a 1/3 of the way...Baby Bubble due in 4 weeks! Eeek!

Quilts in the Garden is at the beginning of April so there is still plenty of time but I am hoping to get the quilt top done before Bubble gets here!

The problem I have at the moment is that my 15mth old has started walking and refuses to nap during the day so I am not getting any time to sew!

                    Hay Ho....onwards and upwards

I am not sure how to put piccies on here, but will have a look into it.

                    TTFN and Happy Crafting!

Good luck, I've never tried quilting before, or much textile crafting in general (My experiences involve trying to make a teddy when I was young and his head almost dropping off- mum had to rescue it I guess it was my first try) but I'm looking forward to photos!
