Depends what its for, but personally I love linen but don't find it practical for small children, so I'd go for linen/cotton mix esp. for dresses, I like cotton drill also.

I know thats two, but they'd be my choices.

I've voted 'other' as I don't think you can beat a good quality 100% cotton.

I know pretty much diddly squat about different types of fabric but I voted for the cotton drill like denim one - only cos I love denim type fabrics on kids, I think they look so cute

              Hi

I`ve voted but linen isn`t easily washable, it also doesn`t hold dye that easily and will fade after a few washings. In adults clothing that`s not so bad because it looks "comfy" but in kids clothing it just looks worn.

Cotton poplin is a nice fabric for kids dresses, shirts and tops as it`s easy care, dries quickly, doesn`t crease much and is still light and floaty.

Also depends on the garment too!

Kids tear holes in everything and always get dirty.

                  I suggest this material...

Rusting is good... makes them easier to catch when it's time to come in.

It must completely knacker your washing machine though? I'd hate to hear it on the spin cycle!

Yeah, I have to admit, it is a trifle on the noisy side.

                              fabric poll

Love the fantastic fabric that Woodtattoo suggests - it looks so appealing made up in the all-in-one playsuit design, particularly the mult function hat - ideal for keeping off both rain & sun.

I would imagine it to be very safe for playing in - if the little darlings fell over their knees look very well protected!

I wish it had been available when my two were little - maybe I'll suggest it to my daughter for my two grandsons & their friends

I can only come up the same as practically everyone else - cotton/linen mix or drill. But it all depends really on what you're going to make with the fabric

                              Good luck with your search
