  • Would Scrapbooking take over my life?

Hey Everyone, i am looking to take up a craft of some sort, and would think scrapbooking would be cool but i think it might end up taking over my life as i would want to document and take photos of everything. I tend to do that on holidays which means i hardly get a chance to relax.
How do you know when to stop..

One of the benefits of scrapbooking as I see it is taking all your pictures and keepsakes, selecting the best and creating a layout or two that distills all your memories and sentiments.. so in an ideal world, you could end up with fewer displayed pictures, but done in a meaningful way..

Of course there's no reason why you cant use every pic good or bad.. if you have the time and resources..

All the scrap-bookers I know have definitely lost all their free time to the art

Fab question. I've not yet learnt the art of knowing when to stop, and scrapbooking is something I haven't started on yet!!

Scrap-booking, its one way of relaxing yourself.. As long as you're enjoying what you are doing and with no pressure at all, it wouldn't take over your life.

The last time I did scrap booking I set aside a day a week to relax doing it so I would get stressed or bored of it. And I set myself so many pages to do in so much time so I could take my time and enjoy the photos.
            Hope I've helped!

Hi if you take up scrapbooking you don't have to scrapbook all your photos so it doesn't have to take over your life.... however when you start scrapbooking you tend to start taking pictures in a different way, so maybe not as many photos but you take the important ones, with an idea of how you will display them, and often less is more if you know what I mean.

              It's a fab hobby anyway :-) !

Oh i am addicted to it Love every minute I spend doing it and actually find it incredibly relaxing because i enjoy going through the pics and remembering where i was etc.. I also find the taking of pics has just become part of who I am so don't find it particularly inter fears with my 'relaxing' as such... you just sorta get used to it..

give it a try, its well worth it and VERY rewarding

                  one answer - yes!
I have had to stop doing so much of mine recently as I have been concentrating on making cards but prior to this I was looking for any spare minute to do pages. I am now so far behind I am stressing about all the pictures I want to scrap but I will get back to them eventually!
Its fantastic and you get to keep all of your best papers and embellishments for you to enjoy in the future.

I enjoy my scrapbooking, it hasn't taken over my life and I don't get stressed thinking I've got to scrap every photo I've got, and I like the idea that I'll be leaving a little bit of me behind
Like mrsjoake, I've found that I think more about the photos I want to take and the way that I take them, but I don't worry if I don't get the 'perfect' shot...
I suppose what I'm trying to say, is that scrapbooking can be as stressful or as stress-free as you want it to be

Hiya I have just joined and I love to scrapbook, it brings back so many happy memories when I go through photos and then write journaling tabs to go with them. It is one of the most enjoyable crafts I have ever done. And continue to do so.
