  • New craft!!

I think I have found a new craft to keep me busy! I bought a bundle of old magazines from a craft shop the other day and one of them was Scrapbook Inspirations. I had a flick through and got loads of ideas and then I found some photos and went to sleep thinking about all the things I could do to the photos to make them look pretty! Hubby says I've got to crack on with the cards but I can still keep thinking about scrapbooking can't I?!!

I love making cards but Scrapbooking is something else that sort of gets under your skin as well! I have only done a few layouts I have to admit but I have fully enjoyed messing with them. I think you are allowed to like more than one craft!

I like scrapbooking but haven't done much. I got heavily into armchair scrapbooking when I had a tv with access to QVC. They used to have yummy papers and stuff

I never bought any but when I was watching, about 6-8 years ago, they looked fabulous

QVC lean towards card making too much I think. They used to have lots of different crafts, glass painting, stencilling cross stich etc etc. All seems to have disappeared now.

I enjoy reading scrapbook inspirations though.

If you're feeling daunted about having a go, I would seek out a local SB store than does classes, or a course.

Alternatively, if you can get hold of 'Simple Scrapbooks' Mangazine from the States, it has a less complicated style, but more classy

Thats what I did this year. They've got everything they 'need'.

I did a nice calendar scrapbook album with a special flip album that folds back on itself and turns into a desk calendar. I made up the 2007 calendar on Word & put pics of the kids in the album. Only took me a couple of hours.

                  They were really pleased

Welcome to my world i'm not very good at card making i don't really see the point (i just want to keep all the cards i make!!!) but love scrapbooking and at the end you have a page you can treasure and not give away, i don't like giving my cards away and my family give them back to me when they have had them up for a while (this is why i don't really make cards)

you'll find that once you have done one album you will start thinking they would look better together in their own album and so you end up with albums everywhere i love looking though mine and so does my mum and mother-in-law.

it's really something you and your children can treasure forever

you shouldn't feel worried because if it doesn't turn out quiet how you wanted you learn from it and after all you don't have to show anyone if you're really not sure and as your knowledge and skills improve and change you can go back and put a poor page to rights i have with several of my pages and you don't have to buy an album star with 8x8 size which you can make out of A4 card or turn an old CD case into a book. I know how you feel that's what i am like about cardmaking!

                          Started with Yummy Papers....

.....but I was soon back to fabrics. I bought, no, ok, I was obsessed with all the bits & bobs, and papers ( I have a severe paper addiction, but it's nothing compared to my fabric obsession...) and I did albums for all of my kids (4) and a couple of very treasured albums of my Nana, who died a few years ago, one of which I gave to my Mum (she cried...bless her) and the other for me.

(BTW I always used copies of photos, never the originals in case of mistakes...)

But with all the albums I kept buying more and more paper etc to make embellishments with and then making the embellishments with fabrics and felt (frames, animals, flowers etc) so I've come to the conclusion that fabric is definitely my thing!

I've sold a lot of the scrapbooking stuff I don't use on eBay, but still have three sets of 4 plastic 14" x 14" draws absolutely full. I keep thinking I'll list them on eBay, but then I start going through them.....fatal! And I get to thinking 'I'd better hang on to that, and this, and those. Never know when I'll need them.......'

I MUST get the stuff sold though, then I could have a great time buying more fabrics with the proceeds. I have a 6" high stack of papers, that I'd love to sell in a one go, but p&p would be horrendous....and loads of unopened embellishments...oh dear, the list is endless. I not sure what the best way to go about it is either, make up co-ordinating packs maybe?

Make up co-ordinating packs or sell in job lots that won't be too much to post If you explain that you are only charging what the post office will charge you then most people will be willing to pay for it - particularly if they are getting loads of goodies!

For me making a scrapbook is fun eventhough it takes time to design and make it tidy. I enjoy making scrapbooks because I love to design as well as writing my name over and over again. I may seem stupid but I really enjoy it a lot I even made one for my friends but I havent finished it yet.
I enjoy to shop for lotsa stuff
