About a month ago I suggested people look at Michael deMeng's work and books ... well, now I have another author to recommend, related to recycling - Linda O'Brien. Her book Who's Your Dada? is spooky but really fascinating - the rest of the title is Redefining the Doll Through Mixed Media. I would in no way call this stuff "dolls" but just intriguing sculpture or something. But it does give you lots of techniques that can be used in all manner of art.

And it's all about recycling things. My granddaughter was looking at it without my knowledge and she brought it to me saying "Gram, these things look like nightmares." Oh dear. SO we looked at a book I got her on illustrating books - Marguerite Makes a Book, and then we watched The Secret of Kells, so I think/hope we successfully wiped out the visual impressions of the Dada "dolls."

NOT that the Dada book is so awful, but it IS Dada....
