    Just done a weekend course on making coiled baskets where I also learned to make rope and split willow! All materials used on the course were dead plant materials.



    The small basket at the front is made from grass, the right hand one is ornamental grass and for the left hand one I made a willow woven base and montbretia sides with a larch top. The rope behind is made from montbretia as is the much longer one I have made tonight. It really makes you look around with a different eye!

      That looks really interesting, wouldn't mind having a go. I wonder if there are any courses near me - must investigate. Thankyou for sharing that.
