Cheapest pottery clay in London?

Hi all pottery experts,

I usually buy clay online but wanted to know if there are any pottery clay shops/stores in london/greater london where I can just pick up? The online delivery charges are v high.

Have you tried contacting your local 'Pottery Painting' studio, they may well have some available. If they don't, then they may be prepared to add some to their next order for you, (If they are getting shipments on pallets, it should not cost any extra to include a block or two of heavy clay). Do a search for local studios in your area and give them a call.

This (in Essex) looks like the nearest to London, otherwise it looks like West Sussex.

When I lived in London years ago we used to drive over to the Fulham Pottery but I think that's long gone now.

There is a shop in North London see their website for details ceramatech.co.uk and I have used a shop in Reading bluematchbox.co.uk

Thanks from me too! I visit London now and then to see friends so could always make a detour on the way home. And my sons live in Reading so I could ask them to pick some up for me on their way up when they visit.
