  • Help with porcelain pots!

    Hi
I am new to the site and just wondered if anyone can help?
I run an after school art club and I have bought some small porcelain plant pots to decorate. I have also bought some rainbow markers which say they are for use on ceramics, glass and more. I have tried them out and they rub off and when I have looked at the packet it states in very small letters that it needs to be sealed with a clear sealer to make designs permanent.
Can anyone tell me what is the best thing to use? i have been looking at acrylic craft sprays but am not sure if this is the best thing to use.

    Thanks

I am a potter but I'm afraid I can't help. Most potters only use proper ceramic glazes or onglaze enamels, so would be unfamiliar with this kind of marker.

      Hi,
I have used these in the past:

You do have to bake in a normal oven to fix though, looks like this site have a sale too. I brought mine from this site, very good.

There is a sealer you can buy that works on most hard surface craft projects - it is clear and available in matt, gloss or satin.

I'll send a private message with more information as it is difficult to know what is considered "advising" and what is considered "selling".
