  • A potery studio in France

    Hello everyone,
I'm writing from France where I own a small pottery studio in a village some 3 hr by motorway south of Paris. The studio is closed. I plan to open up again next May for the summer season 2010 with a new idea. So far, hobby potters have come to my workshop with partners or friends who get utterly bored in the village. So, to 'amuse' them, I am planning to offer entertainment such as bike rides, bbq, folk singing, etc.
However I'm an old lady and can't run the place all on my own. I am therefore looking for someone (man, woman, or couple) willing and able to help me.
It has to be someone with a European passport, or else, with a proper visa to stay more than 3 months.
Please advise me and pass the word!
Best wishes for 2010 to all potters and their friends!

Why not offer the extra work to the other partners or friends, as you generally find that if somone is a doer, then the other half is also a doer at doer at some level. They may be willing and keen to help you could perhaps give them a reduction in fees in return for the help.

Not sure how this would work though, as regards things like insurance etc.

        cheers

Whereabouts in France are you! I would be sorely tempted to come over and help you (studied pottery for a year at art college, until I changed over to silversmiting)
Would it be a long term arrangement? French is only "o" level standard too, so a bit iffy!

I had a look at the blog Sheena. I think its for a couple of months. You would be in the studio 6 half days and you would get your accomodation and food free in return.

Sounds like utter bliss to me!
