  • Wonderful Cernit work plus a tutorial on extruder beads

I thought you would all enjoy seeing the wonderful work of clay artist Marie Segal.

She works with Cernit clay now and the finish of cernit seems to work beautifully with her unique style.

On her blog, you will also find a fantastic tutorial for using clay extruders and powders such as Perfect Pearls to create cool beads.

Thanks for the link. Not my taste but stunningly good work. The level of detail is amazing. The extruder articles were very interesting. Unfortunately I still have one of the really cheap ones & although I made one of the contraptions to make it possible to actually get the clay out of the darned thing, I really don't use it that much (read 'never').

Wow, her work is stunning!!! I'm going to have to buy myself an extruder now - I've been toying with the idea for a while, just need to sell a couple of bits then I'll be going shopping for one I think :-)

I have long admired Marie's work. She used to work mainly in Fimo but switched over to Cernit more recently and I think the Cernit look really suits her work more actually.

Claire - I think the extruder is one of those things you will be glad you had. I don't really use mine ALL that often, but I have certain jobs that I use it for and couldn't be without it for that. I have used mine with ceramic clays too. It really is quite versatile.

Anyway.... I have them in stock at EJR Beads should you be looking for one anytime soon ;-)
