  • Any ideas for A3 paper collage?

Hi - I am a volunteer craft lady at a Day Centre for the Elderly (most aged 8o+ but keen crafters!) I have some A3 sheets of card and want to make a group collage of some sort...
I thought of starting with a background of "Stamped" leaves and ferns (using acrylic paint and real plants - painting the back of the leaves / ferns and pressing them down onto the card)
Maybe then the group can paint (or fibre tip) some cut-outs of flowers to stick on top...
Can anyone give me some other ideas to add to this or something totally different, starting with the A3 Card?
    Thanks
    Nancy

If you Google photos from their era, say 1930's and print them out could you not do nostalgia collages with them. They could suggest the sort of things that they remember and would want on it then as well. That way it would have personal meaning for them. Some may have old photos as well that could be scanned and used.

I like the idea of using leaves and flowers to maybe make an overall secret garden scene...perhaps you could have apertures or add little doors/windows covered in leaves that could be lifted/ open to reveal a secret which could perhaps be something remembered from childhood...a scene of an activity/holiday/day trip/favourite toy/game/pet...or they could add something they feel representative of themselves or someone or something important in their lives.

Thanks for taking the trouble to give me your ideas - you have both given me ways to make it more personal so we will work on that. We do a lot of reminiscing at the Day Centre so they will love this... Nancy
