  • Foiling thick card with laminator

    Hi,
I'd like to foil thick cardstock (1 to 2mm thick) using hot foil stamping. Firstly are there any laminators that will accept card that thick? Secondly, as the card is too thick to go through a laser printer and therefor can't use laser ink to stick the foil to, does anyone have any experience with heat transfer glue (like Deco foil) for creating intricate designs?
Are there any ways of transferring a laser print from thinner paper onto the thicker card?
    Any help gratefully received!
    Thank you

Hi. If you have a heat press you could try heat-activated adhesive sheet, cut on a cutting machine (Cameo, Cricut, etc) then weeded and pressed onto the card (hot peel). Then it's simply a case of laying a sheet of foil over the adhesive area and press again (cold peel).

Another idea is to try metallic HTV cut on a cutter, weeded, and pressed to the card. I've done this before but it was only on thin 350gsm card which curled under the heat. Thicker card should be fine though.
