Do you mean to paint the soap itself, or...?

We (very loosely) sell Soap Painting Kits at Jersey Craft Shop - but also the soap dyes themselves.

It's only a loose 'we' (the shop is in the family, but isn't mine), I'm not sure where these come from, but if you're only after basic colours, etc, the little pots above will do you.

I know they are water based dyes, because when kids inevitably get covered in 'em, they wash off - with the soap, the trick is to paint them, then ideally wrap in clingfilm (tightened with a hair drier) and leave for a few days.

Then the dye sinks into the soap and permeates all the way through - so that it persists, even when the bar is used - though we use glycerin based soaps (see soap kits) for this, not "normal" ones!

        Hope that helps a bit?
