  • Does anyone know what 1dc in each of next 2 dc means please?

I am currently making a toy rabbit, it is the first pattern I have used and have been doing fine until now.
I have come across this: 1dc in each of next 2 dc. What does it mean?

I am working in rounds and am currently decreasing form the foot to the leg. The pattern for this round is *Dc2tog, 1dc in next st, dc2tog, 1dc in each of next 2 dc*, rep from * to * around. (15 stitches)

Can anyone help me with this please?

    Thank you,

    Liz

The literal translation intends for you to do one double chain in each of the following two double chain - ie no increasing or decreasing in those two stitches.

The completed round should be: 1dc which decreases two of the dc from the previous round, 1dc in the dc of the round below, 1dc which decreases two of the dc from the previous round, 1 dc in the dc of the round below, 1dc in the dc of the round below, then this sequence repeated twice which should get you to the end of the round.

It's not easy for me to explain it, but I hope this will give you a bit more of an idea of what is required.

Like Linda says 1dc in each of next 2 dc. means you do 1 dc into the next dc and 1 dc into the one after that.
The Dc2tog is like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zxV1em2670 it is in american terms not uk so don't take any notice that it says sc2tog as this is our dc not our sc.

        Hope this helps
