  • Children's Sun Hat Patterns

Has anyone seen any children's sun hat patterns? I've had some feedback on kid's hats and I am looking for a universal floppy type hat pattern for 1-5 year-olds. There are some fantastic fabrics out there and I reckon I could make a few to seel on my site during the summer.

    Any ideas chaps?

No idea? but will keep an eye out for one.
If you do find a good one can you pm me as I'd like to make one for Em. All the ones i've seen in the shops so far are horrible!

      Try This...

      http://sewing.about.com/library/weekly/aatodhat0704.htm

It's got step by step instructions, and a downloadable pattern.

      or this;

They're more for tiny toddlers than young kids though.

WOW Jules, you are brill !! Go Jules Go Jules

Thanks for the links, will post a pic if I ever get one made. I went into Adams today and the sun hats there are really naff. Might try a plain calico one first to see how it goes.

        Thanks again!

WOW Thanks Jules. Thats great x
Do you know of any nice summer dress patterns on that site? For Em again ~ 18-24 mths? Was going to copy one she already has, but would be nice if I could do something a bit different.
I have looked at the site and can't find anything?... but may just be the way i'm using it!... not a very user friendly site!!
Am clicking on childrens summer clothes and its talking about applique!!

Also-don't know if this helps...I came across this when I was googling for my SIL but...
            http://www.wildginger.com/products/wildthings.htm

...it a free programme that you can use to give you patterns for hats, bags, booties etc. It's got a whole list of options that you can customize including ages etc and it runs up a pattern for you.
I've not investigated too throughly as it's not my thing but it seems quite useful...plus i've got it installed on my computer and although it's freeware i've not had any probs with virus' etc.
            Hope that's useful for someone
