  • Addicted to making cushions!

I seem to have become addicted to making cushion covers

Now I know that I can never keep all of them as I don't have enough room in the house so do you think there would be a market out there for girly cushion covers, I plan on making some funky ones aswell.

I will get some pictures of teh ones I have done so far but the OH is still in bed at the moment and they are all on there

I like the idea of cushion covers my one and only attemtp(which I am very please with from years ago)is currently in a heap stuffed behind my sofa seats.I never got round to adding a zip and i was too scared to sew the cushion into the case I made so it keeps coming off.

Yep, i think cushions are a necessity so you should sell them, especially girly ones.

See I love cushions and was pretty impressed with my first attempt, I think once you have got the hang of it and have a system they are pretty easy.

I sit at work and sew mine when is is quiet so it keeps me entertained.

ooh I have just made some Christmas ones if you want a nosey! I have been meaning to do it for years but never got around to it. I found the material in a charity shop for about £1.50, bargain!

I make cushion covers, with aplique pics or patterns on relevant to the recipient. Love building the design by layers and watching it gradually forming the picture. I call them "Bespoke Cushions", I don't know if that is the correct term but it sounds OK.

You should have a go at selling them what have you got to lose? Nothing they'll go back on your bed or you can give them as gifts. Or give them to a charity shop so you have to buy more fabric and get making more

This will be the place for all us cushion sewing addicts to appear I've been making some for my son's room and have found myself struggling to tone down the amount of embroidery I want to put on it. My next challenge will be ones for the playroom in some funky fabrics.

yes i think u should have a go at selling them, its worth a go on somewhere like etsy, misi cus if you do make sales its so rewarding, and you will have an excuse to make some more!! i became addicted to knitting scarves when i learnt how to do it, i just loved all the amazing yarns you could get hold of, gorgeous colours and textures..in the end i had too many so ive managed to sell a few at craft fairs..i still knit but the ones i sell atm are crocheted. its definitely worth a go make sure u try selling them in different ways ie online and fairs, to friends etc. good luck.

There's definitely a market out there for girly cushions! I sold quite a few myself in the run up to christmas... some were personalised tinkerbell ones and I also did some were a little teddy bear was wrapped up all cosy in a bed on the cushion (removeable teddy made this purchase very popular)....
