  • Help with Giant Chunky Wood Please

    Hi

My first post so please be gentle with me

I am finger crocheting door wreaths using the giant chunky wool/merino. However, I am finding the wood is frizzing and the end product doesn't look neat. Now I have searched t'internet for tips on working with this yarn have done the usual things i.e. running the yarn through my fingers before using but, what would you experts think if I lightly mist the yarn with water before crocheting? My thought is that it would stop the frizzing/shedding and I would be able to get neater stitches.

Thanks in advance for any tips you can give me.

    Hello and welcome,

I did a very quick search for "giant chunky wool/merino shedding" and found this. There were loads more but not being 100% sure of exactly what you were doing I picked one and it had a tip about stopping it shedding so thought it might be of help.

Thank you Shelley. I have been searching (and learning a lot) too and there are a few ways of wet felting one of which is to put it in the washing machine and air dry. Don't think I'm confident to try that yet but will give your idea a go.

      Thanks again

Wow❤ This is awesome work. How much does it weigh?
I will try to do it better.
