    You'll also need to check what labelling is required - I believe clothing requires a label of fibre content and washing instructions, but your local Trading Standards office should be able to advise on that.

    It's all much more complicated than its seems at first, but once you're set up it's not so bad. Good luck.

    How had you thought about selling it ? Craft fairs, web site, on line ? If you knit childrens toys you will need to conform to regulations and have CE/BS approval labelling.

    Hi, you need public and product liability insurance as an absolute minimum and you will need to register with HMRC as soon as your annual GROSS income from it exceeds £1000, your tax free allowance, this was updated April 17th 2018. You can double check it on the dot gov/income tax, new tax allowance for property and trading income. I’d at least read it just in case you need it.
