  • Jewellery Making Meetups

Hi, Does anyone know of any jewellery making meetups where people can exchange ideas, how to tutorials and any other related jewellery topics? Preferably in the Manchester/Bolton area?

    Thanks

...just saw you posted basically what I suggested in your other post. Try the bead shop in Manchester - http://www.the-beadshop.co.uk/ - they should be a good resource.

Hi wholesalers. I realise that English isn't your first language, but I'm completely mystified as to what you're saying here. Perhaps you need to try another translator. Or maybe another forum?

I think she is trying to say that she wants to make a fashionable, stylish ring but needs help with an idea? Maybe that isn't what she is trying to say George but your comment came across as being quite rude. Maybe that wasn't your intention, hope not.

Actually bubbleicious, that was exactly my intention. If proved wrong, I'll hold up my hand and apologise, but I'm 99.9% certain that wholesalers is a spammer-in-waiting, comes from the far East or possibly Asian subcontinent, and is yet another seller who thinks that joining forums is a good way to sell fake goods. As an admin on a number of other forums, both in this and another field, I see this on a daily basis.

Take a look at their other posts and see if you can find any reason why they might otherwise be here.....

@bubbleicious you are absolutely right you got my point i really wanna make a trendy or precious design ring but i haven't idea that how can make.. i need instruction about making. Thanks.
@mazgeogre i dunno what sort of English you can understand if you didn't understand my English so what can i do i think its not my headache you probably should focus your English language. anyhow..... and I'm not seller, I became member to increase my knowledge otherwise there isn't any reason if you felt bad so i apologise.

I don't think Mizgeorge was rude at all. I'm with Mizgeorge - looks like a spammer to me. I've also looked at the other posts by her/him and seems pretty obvious to me. If "Wholesaler" (there's a clue right there) is geniunely a crafter wanting to know how to make jewellery, rather than someone trying to build up enough posts through random comments, then he/she would be more specific relating to the type of jewellery they make rather than someone asking to be told how to make a "trendy or precious design ring" which is so vague it's not even possible to answer. Another big clue is the repeated use of "jewelry" in Wholesaler's posts - spammers always spell it that way as they're overseas and don't know the British spell it jewellery.

Hi SPJ, do you use Facebook at all? There is a channel on Sky 655/Freeview 43/Freesat 807 etc., called JewelleryMaker.com and they have a page & big following on Facebook. I know there are regular meets around the country and I'm pretty sure there have been a couple of recent ones in the Manchester area...perhaps have a look on there? I hope this helps
