  • Pesky drill holes?!

I made a pendant with a rose pattern cut into it and I experimented loads with different drill bits and saw blade sizes but the drill holes always seem to be really visible. At first it bugged me but now I'm starting to quite like them but am worried I'm just settling.

    This is one of them

Do you think the drill holes are too distracting/amateurish?

I think it's probably impossible to have invisible drill holes. But can you post a picture taken directly above the pendant? I can't see the holes well enough to comment. Love the pendant, though, it's bright and subtle at the same time.

          Hi, Luna-loco!
Nice pendant! Don't worry. I don't think the holes are too big/distracting. 'You can't bake a cake without breaking some eggs'. The holes must be there.

For this design, I think the rounded ends to the piercing look OK, and rather like the dotted end lines that are popular in some stamped designs. However, as a general rule, you shouldn't be able to see the holes. You might find this chart useful for matching drill bit sizes and blades.
