  • Knitted Wire

hello i'm looking for some advice i've been playing around with knitting wire jewellery but i'm not sure if anyone would actually buy it?

what do you think? and if you do like them (theoretically) how much would you be happy to pay? I never know what my stuff is worth?
    criticism appreciated!
    thanks and happy crafting!

They really are very pretty and unusual. I think what might stop me buying them, apart from price, would be the fear of them getting snagged and pulled out of shape. I'm the wrong person to ask about price, as anything over a tenner, and I think "I could makethat (even thought I can't!)

I think they're lovely, really pretty, something I've still to try. Oooh not sure of pricing, less for glass seed beads, more for gem chips/beads...? Around the £10 mark, little under maybe for seed beads and over for gems, also depends if the pendant is on a chain/ribbon/thong/beaded wire etc. Matching the pendant & bracelet would be nice too I'm crossing my fingers I haven't got the pricing totally wrong and haven't offended you...I'm just thinking what I would charge, mind you my hubby does tell me I undercharge! Apologies in advance.....

Hi. I've knitted with wire in the past and made necklaces, bracelets and flower brooches (see my website), which have all sold well and I have not had any complaints.

If they do go out of shape, the can always be pulled back into shape, but no one has ever said they have been snagged.

        They are lovely...have faith! x

I like the pendant. I think if you were to make a set ie pendent(perhaps on a ribbon or some kind of chain) and earrings, pricing it from £15 upwards doesn't sound unreasonable. If you used sterling wire or high quality beads eg semi-precious gemstone, swarovski crystals you could price it even higher.

I agree with all the above, I think if you made them will crystals in clear and pearls you'd get more as a cuff made like this would be great for a bride.

            Good luck with them.

Oh wow they are stunning, I adore the leaf.
I've always wanted to make a cuff but each time I go to do it I end up doing something else, maybe I'm scared of it! Haha.
I'd happily buy the pendant alone for £6-8 but that could just be my cheap side talking, I've always been told I am underpricing aswell.
Goodluck and I hope you find what you need.

These are lovely. Wish I was as clever - I stock the wire but just haven't learnt to knit yet!

Thanks everyone!! sorry for not replying sooner, I have decided on £5 for pendants and £12 for bracelets as the ones i've made since the blue one are a lot nicer (if I do say so myself) then £20 for a set of jewellery. I have also got some silvery almost seethrough ribbon and some findings to string the pendants on. I've been wearing the purple bracelet below all week and it had got a little battered but it always flattens out and looks new again! I also havent got it snagged on anythign despite wearing woold jumpers, having shoulder lenght hair and using crutches so I think they pass the test, have a look at these ones and see what you think? any criticism is much appreciated!
