Best type of jewellery wire for bracelets?

Up to now I've only used silver/silver plated wire and chain to make bracelets with and wanted to be able to make ones with beads strung onto a more flexible wire with a clasp attached. I want to use quite chunky gemstone beads, etc. and probably toggle clasps so was wondering which exact type and thickness/variety/weight would be best and give the nicest bracelet. I guess I'll need to get myself some crimps (bought myself som crimping pliers ages ago with the intention of having a go at it but never got round to it )

I'd go for a 49 strand wire for gemstones. It's the best quality, and will give a good drape.If the bracelet is going to be very heavy, and the bead holes are big enough, you can use a double strand of wire. There's various different brands in 49 strand, and some people have a favourite. I've liked all the ones I've used so far. I have 2 of the brands on my website, Accuflex, and Beadsmiths Flexrite.
